As family farms disappear from the landscape, the not-so-common barn owl is quickly disappearing. Once a prolific little bird keeping mice and other rodents in check, what is its future in this changing world, and is there anything we can do to help it survive? Join Master Falconer and wildlife rehabilatator, Wendy Looker, as she presents “The Not-so-Common Barn Owl” at Craighead House on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2 pm. This is an outdoor event, so in case of inclement weather, there will be a rain date of October 15, 2023 at 2 pm.
Wendy will bring her live barn owl, and discuss the history and future of the bird, its specialized adaptations for hunting and living, and how we can help in its survival. The event is free and open to all.
